Healthy Eating

Research shows that healthy eating habits formed in the years before school play a vital role in children’s growth, development, and future learning. A balanced diet helps children to stay focused, energetic, and ready to engage in play and learning throughout the day.

We understand that a healthy diet, alongside regular physical activity, is essential for children’s overall health and well-being. By working in partnership with parents, we aim to promote positive attitudes towards healthy food choices and support children in developing lifelong healthy habits.

Snack Time

We provide healthy snacks during the nursery day, for those who pay consumables; however, parents are asked to supply a packed lunch for their child. We encourage all families to provide nutritious, well-balanced lunches to support children’s health and development.

For families who provide their own snacks for preschool.

We ask that all snacks are healthy options, such as fruit or vegetables. For the safety and wellbeing of all children, we kindly ask that snacks meet the following guidelines:

  • Fruit or vegetables only

  • No nuts (including nut products)

  • No sweets or chocolate

For safety reasons, please also ensure snacks are cut appropriately. For example, grapes must be cut lengthways into quarters.
