🌳FOREST SCHOOL POST🧚♂️
We had a calm and leisurely week that seemed to pass quickly in the heat. Lotsnof water play, making bubbles with our feet was splashing fun. We crafted fairies and elves using elder and felt, and shared numerous stories while nestled in our shaded bean bag corner. It was wonderful to savour quiet moments as the heat increased, allowing for plenty of reflection with the children. We also enjoyed relaxing in hammocks. Miss Nikki brought in some enchanting fairies for the focus

Old Town
This week, our theme has focused on healthy eating. It has been a very hot week and the children have coped so well considering. We've enjoyed plenty of water play, eaten ice pops to keep us cool and engaged with messy tuff trays to keep us busy. We apologise for the limited photos this week. Our main priority has been spending more one-on-one time with the children and ensuring their safety in this heat. Thank you for being so understanding in picking your children up early

Water Play Week
This weeks post looks a little different as it is shorter - due to the heat we of course have been shut for half days and when the children have been in we have been solely focused on their wellbeing and temperature. To keep the babies cool this week we have been splashing in the pool everyday ! Some babies have been diving straight in and other are more happy with a hand splash but this is a great way for them to keep cool. We also have been treated to ice lollys ! Again som

Forest School
Last week was filled with sharing transition stories, practising lining up, taking registers, and encouraging self-service during snack time. Our leavers showed excellent progress, getting one step closer to their next adventure. We decided to take the plunge and put our skills to the test by making bread dough. We then added oil and our homegrown rosemary to create focaccia, and it was a success! The children developed their fine motor skills as they rolled, kneaded, stretch

🌳 Forest bears weekly post 🌳
This week has been a very wet week and the Bears have all been amazingly resilient. One of the Bears found a wooden ball which led to teamwork and creating a large guttering run for the ball to run down. We then tried the run with water which trickled all the way to the end, this was a very exciting challenge that the Bears found a large interest in and used critical thinking with. Miss Sarah brought in some large wooden tongs, and the Bears practiced picking up the different

Forest Bears
We were thrilled to celebrate World Wetlands Day on Monday! The children ventured into the forest with Miss Sarah, gathering materials to create their very own wetland. They thought about the types of creatures that might inhabit it, coming up with some fascinating answers.
