Last week was filled with sharing transition stories, practising lining up, taking registers, and encouraging self-service during snack time. Our leavers showed excellent progress, getting one step closer to their next adventure.
We decided to take the plunge and put our skills to the test by making bread dough. We then added oil and our homegrown rosemary to create focaccia, and it was a success! The children developed their fine motor skills as they rolled, kneaded, stretched, and folded the dough around their skewers. Next, we took them down to the open fire to bake over the flames 🔥, and they were delicious! We plan to extend this activity by experimenting with different doughs. The children suggested adding tomatoes 🍅 or making sweet bread 🥖. We also attempted to make strawberry oat shakes; although they turned out a bit lumpy, we had a fantastic experience. The children used a masher and sliced the strawberries, working together to pass each item down the production line until we added the oat milk.
Some Bears created Dad on a stick with Sarah, they had some fun making them with ears eyes and noses and some has a few extra features !
Nikki led focus groups which are highlighted on their journeys!
I had planned next week as our sports focus week, but in light of the warmer weather I will be swapping weeks and we have Fairies and Elves week!
